You pay provider rates plus nothing. The saving is not a discount — it is not sending a summarisation request to a frontier model because nobody told the calling code there was a choice.
What routing by concept is worth
The same traffic, two policies.
A blended million tokens at a 3:1 input:output ratio, priced two ways: everything to the strongest model in the pool, versus each concept to the model its policy row actually picks.
Illustrative, using the configured pool and policy — not a measured
result from production traffic. The honest version of this number
comes from the decision log once there is traffic to measure
(KPI-cost-per-success).
